Handwoven on a backstrap loom of cotton threads.

The Sibateca woman guards the history of the first Tseltales who came to found Ocosingo. In their clothing, the indigenous women still reflect embroidery designs which long ago were originally woven with the backstrap loom. Pride in their roots has led these artisans to not lose their customs and give voice to their community through their embroidery.
